The County of Butler is seeking qualified applicants with proven leadership to fill the position of Solicitor. This highly visible, accountable position, reports directly to the Board of Commissioners and serves as legal advisor to the Board of Commissioners and attorney for the County of Butler. Providing support for administration, policy, planning, meeting management, compliance and communication throughout County government.
Candidates should have JD from an accredited law school. Three to five years practicing in administrative and/or public entity matters, municipal law, and/or having managerial experience preferred. Must be duly admitted and a member in good standing of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Knowledge of federal, state, and local statutes, the County Code, laws, precedence, principles and practices governing and/or affecting local civil law. Knowledge on procedures relating to areas of labor and employment, assessment, election, contracts, procurement, insurance, prison, and the like preferred. Competitive salary and benefits package.
