Administrative Assistant
General Duties:
The Administrative Assistant for the Planning division provides general information to the public, consultants, contractors and other City Staff on matters related to Planning and Zoning and provides administrative and clerical support to the division manager and staff of the Planning Division.
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associates degree or two-year technical degree preferred
- Minimum of three years administrative experience (experience must be within the last five years)required
- One to two years experience in Community Development and/or Planning preferred
- Experience working for a municipality preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) required; advanced skills in PowerPoint preferred; advanced word processing and composition skills required.
Physical Requirements:
Physical effort is light for the majority of work with lifting or carrying limited to 25 pounds intermittently. Report preparation and writing at times requires extended use of a keyboard. Between 10-20% of the time there is pressure associated with a project or deadline.
Working Conditions:
Most work is performed in a normal office environment. Work interruptions are frequent.
