FIRE EQUIPMENT FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN
SCOPE:
Sales and service of commercial kitchen hood fire suppression systems, portable fire extinguishers and exit/emergency lighting in accordance with recognized national, state and local fire codes and standards.
DETAIL OF DUTIES:
• Sell, install and maintain portable fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and exit lighting.
• Provide inspection and maintenance service for commercial kitchen hood fire suppression systems.
• Interpret legal requirements, provide safety information, and recommend compliance procedures to customers.
• Adjust, clean, or repair products or processing equipment to correct defects found during inspections.
• Write test and inspection reports describing results, recommendations, and needed repairs.
• Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products, and recommend necessary corrective actions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Thorough knowledge of NFPA 10, 17, 17A, 96 and manufacturer manuals.
• General knowledge of DOT Hazardous Material requirements.

MISCELLANEOUS
• Maintain a professional appearance, attitude and high moral standards.
• Ability to stand, walk and climb stairs or step ladders for long periods of time and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. Able to work on overhead items, able to bend, kneel and stoop to accomplish tasks.
• Must possess the ability to operate general hand tools and pressure operated devices.
• Additional requests which may be made by management to further the goals of the Company

• Commercial, industrial and manufacturing facilities, kitchen environment including hot and possibly greasy equipment.
