Columbus Ledger-Enquirer is hiring a Sales Manager for our Digital Advertising department to be responsible for coaching and development of local sales team members to develop a highly effective, consultative sales consultants.  Also responsible for working with Market Director to consult on strategic planning, vision, and execution for advertising division key performance indicators. This manager will teach all of the multi-channel solutions and how each provides ROI (return on investment) for clients.  Also responsible for mentoring team members to build confidence; providing feedback; working in the field and connecting with advertisers. A passion for providing leadership in change management and leading the team through the digital transformation is essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed to ensure success.

  • Leadership and focus (leveraging the strengths of the team and each team member)
  • Coach, mentor and motivate sales team in the field and on sales floor
  • Utilize activity metrics and align them with sales goals and wanted behaviors
  • Understand the industry competition
  • Create an environment of accountability, responsibility, and collaboration
  • Think and plan strategically; include tactical execution
  • Develop our talent and retain top salespeople

  • Apply focus on the engagement of research, data usage and the preparation for sales calls

Education:  Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.

Experience:  Two or more years of advanced digital marketing and/or sales management; ability to strategize and develop campaigns through all forms of digital and print media.

Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital and print solutions.

Experience in planning, marketing and executing. Demonstrates sound business judgment. Strong verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required.  Proven track record of success and results.
