INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY POSITIONS
The Division of Information Technology at Millersville University is accepting applications for a Technical Applications Administrator, an Applications Support Analyst and two (2) Network Administrators in the Departments of Enterprise Applications & Digital Solutions and Network & Systems Services. The Technical Applications Administrator will need to have proven experience with managing applications and solving complex problems. This position will serve as a critical member of the Enterprise Applications & Digital Solutions team within the Information Technology Division. Primary responsibility is supporting MU’s Student Information System (Ellucian’s Banner). The Technical Applications Administrator position is a permanent full-time opportunity and is situated in Millersville, Pennsylvania. Hybrid/remote work flexibility available a few days a week. Candidate must be able to get to campus quickly should an issue occur.
Required Qualifications: Two years of IT experience in application administration/development and an associate degree in an IT related field OR Four years of IT experience that includes two years of experience in application administration/development OR a bachelor’s degree in any IT related field; Broad and/or in-depth knowledge of multiple areas of focus in application specialty areas; Knowledge of systems and functions, including design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation; Knowledge of enterprise applications and reporting development tools applicable to university enterprise architecture. (Preferred: Oracle, Argos, OnBase, Ellucian Banner.); Demonstrated skill in system workflow and business process flow analysis and design; Demonstrated proficiency with information systems technology, which also includes Microsoft Office 365 (one note, teams), email, intranet, internet, and other systems; Demonstrated and effective organizational, problem-solving, customer service, written/verbal and interpersonal skills; SQL Experience and Desire and ability to learn new technologies.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with Oracle database management; Ability to comprehend and make modifications to at least one object-oriented language; Configuring and managing packaged software like Ellucian Banner, Ellucian Solution Manager, Extensibility tools, or Ellucian Ethos platform; Experience with SAP and Onbase; Experience using a report writer; Project management experience; HTML and JavaScript; Experience using O365 applications; PL/SQL; Higher education experience.
Compensation and Benefits:
Annual Salary: $77,753.00 – $97,746.00, plus comprehensive benefits starting on the first day of employment, including:
- Health insurance – Low bi-weekly premium, with coverage starting on the first day of employment for employee and all dependents.
- Dental insurance – Coverage is free to employee and dependents with coverage starting on the first day of employment.
- Vision insurance – Coverage is free to employee and dependents with coverage starting on the first day of employment.
- Group life insurance – Equal to annual salary (up to $50,000) at no cost to the employee.
- Voluntary Group Life and Accident Insurance – Available for purchase at low rates for additional employee coverage as well as coverage for spouse and children.
- Long Term Disability Insurance – Available for purchase at low rates with either a 90 or 180-day waiting period.
- Retirement – 2 plans to choose from.
- Tuition waiver – For employee, spouse, and dependents.
- Personal leave – Up to 6 days per year.
- Vacation leave– Up to 10.4 days accrued per year for first year, increases to 15.6 days per year after 1 year.

The Applications Support Analyst will serve as a member of the team with the primary responsibility of providing high quality, customer-focused technical support for Millersville University’s Enterprise Applications. This position will support the end users at Millersville University regarding how to use various software applications efficiently and effectively.

Annual Salary: $60,362.00 – $72,020.00, plus comprehensive benefits starting on the first day of employment, including:
- Health insurance – Low bi-weekly premium. Employees pay 5% of bi-weekly salary for benefit coverage with ability to pay 2.5% when participating in the wellness program.
- Dental Insurance – Coverage is free to employee and dependents after 90 days.
- Vision Insurance – Coverage is free to employee and dependents after 90 days.
- Group Life Insurance – equal to annual salary (up to $40,000.00) at no cost to the employee.

The Network Administrators will assist with monitoring and troubleshooting campus wired and wireless networks consisting of Cisco routers and switches, Cisco firewalls, Cisco ISE, Cisco DNA Center, and wireless controllers and access points. Assist with troubleshooting of Linux and Windows server and client resources including DHCP and DNS, account authentication and other network application services. Priorities can, and will, be adjusted from time to time under the direction and supervision of the Director of Network Services (NSS) in response to situations as they arise on a case-by-case basis.
Required Qualifications: Two years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance, AND an associate’s degree in any information technology field; OR Four years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of technical experience in network operation or network maintenance; Knowledge of current computer and network hardware capabilities and software programming techniques, the principles and techniques of wired and wireless network operations and maintenance, hardware and software performance measurement and evaluation techniques, premise hardware and cabling (Kron, Patch Panels, Cable Management, Fiber); Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Cisco/Nexus IOS, such as TCP/IP, Linux/Windows OS, IP addressing and naming schemes, DHCP, DNS, Network security, and Wireless Infrastructure; Demonstrated understanding of various network media and technologies, network switches and routers, routing protocols, multi-layer network troubleshooting, network management protocols and tools, and network analyzers.; Must be able to quickly and accurately troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions that could adversely affect campus, classroom, or studio demonstration or use. Position requires substantial networking expertise; Ability to work independently and in coordination with others; Systematic, technically curious, & self-motivated; Skill in programming using script languages, command language, bit-masking, and bit-mapping techniques; Ability to analyze operations and develop logical systems designs; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, and University technical personnel; Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams; Flexible work schedule as dictated by the needs of the university; Ability to work remotely if required due to university procedures, and a Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field; 3+ years hands-on experience in enterprise network operations; Current CCNA certification or higher; Experience in Wireless (Cisco ISE and DNA Center), Firewall configuration and management, Cisco Wireless Controller, and Cisco UC Telephony; Server configuration and support.
