Job Summary

This position will be located in the Freeman Building in St. Paul with the ability to telework part-time.

This position serves as the Plant Protection Division (PPD) business analyst for financial management, internal accounting, procurement oversight and expenditure evaluations
and corrections. These activities ensure effective and accurate operations amongst multiple program areas providing inspection and certification services. Some specific responsibilities include oversight for contractual obligations, financial reporting for federal and state grants received, consulting on program budgets and providing overall oversight of division purchasing and assets.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of professional experience in an accounting or financial management role.

A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field will count toward one year of experience. An Associate's Degree in one of these fields will count toward six months of experience.

Experience using spreadsheets and database systems to analyze financial data.

Mathematical skills sufficient to develop novel ways to analyze financial data and make predictions and recommendations.

Ability to read and correctly interpret State statute, purchasing policies and other associated rules.

The ability to celebrate diversity and a strong commitment to a respectful and inclusive work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a supervisory or lead accounting or financial management role.

Advanced experience in spreadsheets or databases sufficient to create pivot tables and other complex analysis.

Previous experience using SWIFT.

Current State purchasing authority.
