Human Resources Generalist

We are accepting applications for a full-time position as Human Resources Generalist in the Office of Human Resources & Payroll.
Responsibilities: The Human Resources Generalist responsibilities include:
Manages the employee performance evaluation process and maintains reporting mechanisms to track performance measurement goals and objectives in accordance with university policy.
Manages and resolves complex employee relations matters advises and coaches supervisors and employees to improve work relationships.
Reviews recruitment, payroll, benefit, and compensation administration documentation as appropriate for operational procedures.
Assists faculty, staff, students, and non-university individuals and entities, as appropriate, in the procedural understanding and application of payroll and related human resources policies; advises employees on issues related to policies, and resolves associated individual problems as required.
Coordinates the planning, formulation, implementation, and delivery of effective organizational development and training services for departments.
Administers exit survey process, analyzes data to identify trends and develops solutions to address issues and challenges.
Works as part of the human resources team ensuring that the HR-related work at the department level is in coordination with all other HR functions including but not limited to benefits, payroll, and recruitment, especially in peak times such as open enrollment, tax time, and fiscal year changes.
Gathers and analyzes data, using query from the ERP database for processing and preparing various reports as needed.
Facilitates the H1-B process and works collaboratively with those necessary in gathering information for immigration attorneys, ensuring the institution's compliance with immigration laws and regulations concerning the employment of foreign nationals (non-U.S. citizens and non-permanent residents). Interprets and monitors immigration laws/regulations and proposed legislation.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and three years of experience related to the duties described above. Must have excellent people skills and be proficient in oral and written communications, exercise good judgement, must accept responsibility and perform duties in an atmosphere of team-like cooperation. Excellent keyboarding and computer skills are required. Extensive experience with word processing and spreadsheet software. Must have the ability to work with minimum supervision.
Desired Qualifications: Ability to establish presence and credibility quickly – to become a trusted resource to employees. Demonstrated ability to apply data management and analysis tools in researching and analyzing various types of data. Exceptional ability to gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics and provide recommendations to Human Resources Staff/Payroll Staff or leadership. Ability to maintain a level of confidentiality with all interactions and work products.
