The Town of Waverly Hall, Georgia is hiring for the position of Municipal Court Clerk. The positions is supervised by Waverly Hall Chief of Police. Position Summary: The Court Clerk is responsible for and involved in the planning, scheduling, and coordinating of the clerical activities of the Municipal Court. The Court Clerk is responsible for seeing that the Court's records are accurate, orderly, and complete.
Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive, and may be subject to change, as well as other duties being assigned as needed. Answers telephone and personal inquiries from defendants, attorneys, family, and other parties. Provides information and documentation for internal and public requests. Maintains records in accordance with established court procedures. Communicates court policies and procedures to the public. Maintains confidentiality as required. Performs cashiering duties of accepting payments. Prepares files for court including DMV and/or Criminal Histories. Preparation of court documents and court dockets. Set-up of courtroom prior to court proceedings. Perform clerical and/or administrative duties as required/assigned/needed.
Education, Certifications, and Experience: A High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required. One Year minimum of Clerical experience. One Year minimum of Customer Service experience. Previous experience in a Court or Legal environment is preferred, but not required.
Certification: Must be able to complete annual Municipal Court Clerk Certification training course within the first 12 months of employment, as well as any other training necessary for day to day operations. Must be able to pass a pre-hire drug screen and background check.
