At UConn Health, this position is responsible for creating content and implementing social media campaigns designed to interact and engage targeted audiences in support of promoting UConn Health’s brand, services, and reputation.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Works under the general supervision of an employee of higher grade.

 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

 Builds and maintains UConn Health’s brand and services awareness through exposure, influence and engagement across all social media platforms;

 Implements the social media strategy; provides guidance for campaigns; develops an annual plan for social media posts;

 Gathers relevant data to guide social media strategy and tactical implementations for short-term and long-term engagement and effectiveness;

 Builds relationships on social media; grows, manages and engages with social communities; communicates with followers, responds to queries in a timely manner, and monitors customer reviews; informs appropriate departments of responses/insights from the social community;

 Serves as primary content creator for all social media platforms; develops and executes all campaigns and posts; creates relevant graphics and takes photos as needed;

 Collaborates with other teams/departments within the enterprise to ensure brand consistency, coordinate content, and to guide or facilitate posting content;

 Organizes project work groups to gather and review relevant data for guidance in social media development and enhancing effectiveness;

 Stays current with social platforms, social technology, reporting tools, trends, audience development and content, and creative best practices to develop innovative ways to connect;

 Assists in the development of social media policies and best practices;

 Supports university-wide social media strategy needs;

 Performs related duties as required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

  • Considerable knowledge of social media platforms and social influencer management tools to optimize engagement;
  • Knowledge of content management and web design;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal and relationship building skills;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to express new ideas and seek innovative new approaches to challenges;
  • Analytical skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines.

 

EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

General Experience:

Six (6) years professional experience in communications including at least two (2) years of social media experience on behalf of a healthcare services, college or university, government agency or other large organization.

 

SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism or a related field may be substituted for four (4) years of the General Experience.

Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism or a related field may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the general experience.

 

SCHEDULE: Full time 40 hour work week Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

 

FULL TIME MINIMUM EQUIVALENT SALARY: $69,514.00
