The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking applications for a Campus Land Planner for the
FM Architectural/Engineering. This is a full-time, permanent staff position. 

Purpose of the Position:
The position of Campus Land Planner is responsible for supporting the planning for the physical development of the campus, as part of the Planning, Design, and Construction department, working collaboratively with the Facilities Management team including Grounds, Engineering, Sustainability, Maintenance Operations, and UNC Charlotte stakeholders, and external, multi-disciplinary consultants. The Campus Land Planner will work on a range of planning initiatives including master and sector planning, planning studies, and feasibility studies at multiple scales. The Campus Land Planner advises internal customers on site selection and development, campus land use, building locations, and site amenities.

Salary: $74,242 - $82,491

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment and five years of related experience including one year in a supervisory capacity; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Licensed to practice architecture or landscape architecture by the North Carolina Board of Architecture or the North Carolina Board of Landscape Architects, or acquire the license within two years of date of hire.

Essential Job Duties: Develop planning recommendations for campus development and campus-level landscape architecture based on institutional priorities, coordinating with the Director of Planning Design and Construction; Grounds, Sustainability, Facilities Engineering, and Facilities Maintenance and Operations.
Ensure that institutional planning objectives and strategies are incorporated into projects.
Review the work of external planning consultants to ensure projects reflect the planning intent, university design and construction, and standards, schedule, and budget as established by the Director of Planning, Design, and Construction. Review, update and maintain university design and construction guidelines related to land planning. Prepare reports and presentations that identify issues and present options to inform university decision-making. Provide information and recommendations on physical and comprehensive planning and design issues, large-scale planning and sector studies, and special facilities planning topics. Manage requests for the development of campus outdoor spaces, soliciting input for the development of projects and ensuring plans and compliance with University objectives. Maintain working relationships with local city, county, and state government officials, University City Partners, and private developers on issues that affect campus development. Perform other duties as required.
